ABOUT OUR TEAM
We think of everyone serving at our church as part of the team. Some of the team works in the background serving in lots of different ways. Some have a higher profile and very specific jobs such as our elders and ministers. Our desire is that everyone who attends our churches will have the opportunity to serve in a ministry as part of the team.
THE HIGHER PROFILE TEAM MEMBERS
Our full time ministry team includes Russell Vandervelden, married to Liana, and Mike Bosshard, married to Mel.
Russ is the full time inducted minister of the Maitland church family and Mike is the full time inducted minister of East Maitland church family.
This may seem unusual for two church families to be working so closely together – its a unique arrangement in that Maitland and East Maitland Presbyterian Church families are together in the same building, meeting together permanently as partners in the gospel. For various reasons we have ‘not amalgamated’, opting instead to continue the two church families together on the one building.
The plan is to grow both congregations and one day plant back into East Maitland.
Both Russ and Mike bring a depth of broad ministry experience to the team.
Our elders serve in lots of different ways but are also the ‘think’ tank sitting behind our ministries. They work hard at making sure we stay on track with following Jesus, our mission and our core values. Our current elders represent a wide range in ages, experience and backgrounds which adds a rich and invaluable element to the life of our church family. Our current elders are Paul, Matt, Michael, Murray and Cody.
